Environmental preservation efforts don’t stem from a single, major step, but rather from small, consistent habits. Building on this spirit, the Panca Persada Waste Bank once again held a waste sorting activity with residents, an educational program aimed at fostering new mindsets about responsible waste management.
This activity received support from ALVAboard and Kamibox, who together provided facilities and more structured sorting education. As part of its CSR contribution, ALVAboard donated 10 Ecobins to support the sorting activities. These Ecobins serve as educational platforms to help the community understand that each type of waste requires different management.
For ALVAboard, this participation is not just about providing facilities, but also about helping the community see that waste can have value when properly sorted.
In this activity, waste is categorized into several main types. The materials sorted include clean PET bottles, dirty PET bottles, mixed plastic bottles, PE plastic, clear PP cups, colored PP cups, buckets, and Mixed A/Boncos (Boncos) and dirty Boncos (Boncos) categories commonly found in households. Furthermore, Panca Persada also separates high-value materials such as cans, aluminum cans, bottle caps, gallon caps, and even Yakult packaging. UBC (Tetra Pak) containers, such as milk cartons, are also part of this sorting process, given their significant recycling potential.
Through this neat and directed sorting process, residents are encouraged to understand that every piece of waste that is properly categorized can extend the life cycle of materials and reduce the burden on landfills. This education is at the heart of Panca Persada’s activities—that environmental change begins with individual awareness.
The collaboration between Panca Persada Waste Bank, ALVAboard, and Kamibox demonstrates that the sustainability movement is stronger when implemented together. With proper facilities, a clear sorting system, and community support, people can develop environmentally friendly habits that are grounded, not merely ceremonial.
For ALVAboard, activities like this serve as a reminder that companies play a vital role in strengthening the recycling ecosystem. Every piece of material successfully sorted today is a concrete step towards a cleaner and more sustainable environment. ALVAboard will continue to support community initiatives that bring long-term benefits to the earth and future generations.
