Building environmental awareness doesn’t have to wait until someone is fully grown; it’s most effective when it begins in school. With that in mind, Talaga 1 Public Elementary School is implementing a waste sorting program for all students from grades 1 to 6. This activity not only introduces the basic concept of waste sorting but also teaches children how every small action has a significant impact on the earth.
As part of its commitment to sustainability, ALVAboard supports this initiative by providing Ecobins for the sorting process within the school environment. These Ecobins serve as hands-on learning tools, enabling children to understand the differences between organic and inorganic waste, as well as recyclable materials such as PET bottles, PE plastic, PP glass, cans, and various other categories.
In addition to waste sorting, ALVAboard also provides several extra boxes for storing textbooks and school supplies. This facility helps teachers organize the classroom more neatly and also teaches students that even items need a special place to prevent damage and maintain their long-term use. Through an educational approach and hands-on practice, students are encouraged to understand that waste management isn’t just about throwing it away, but choosing the right place. This early habit is expected to develop into a lifestyle, not just a school assignment.
The collaboration between Talaga 1 Public Elementary School and ALVAboard exemplifies the crucial role education plays in developing a more environmentally conscious generation. With adequate facilities and engaging learning, children increasingly understand that caring for the earth starts with themselves.
ALVAboard believes that the best investment is in the future, and that future lies in the hands of our children today. Through activities like this, ALVAboard remains committed to supporting educational programs that teach sustainability, awareness, and social responsibility.
